Robots-Job Industry and Capabilities                                                           Mark Karenbauer

Robots are so technologically advanced at the present time that they are taking people’s jobs, and they are also coming more intelligent.

Humans cannot keep up with the building of robots.  Something, like a task that would take fifty or one hundred people only takes one robot which would results in job losses.  The mechanics that build the robots are able to build them where it is more capable to do tasks that humans simply just cannot do.  The unemployment rate is rising significantly in the past few years and hopefully the robotic industry does not kill the entire job industry for humans. This is a negative way the robots are in our society, but I will say they can also help us in a lot of ways.

The capabilities of robots have increased dramatically in recent decades. Advances in robotics have made the machines essential to modern manufacturing, space travel, transportation, security systems, communications and more – even housecleaning. Robots are very important to the United States military.  They can be a possible replacement for soldiers and they can also spy on the enemy.  They can also deliver ammunition for soldiers in need.  In the science world, they can search and explore in space and under water, and they can help in diagnosis for medicine.  In manufacturing in factories, the robots can assemble, weld, paint, carry stuff, and test the quality of things being made.  They can clean, serve as guards for a security situation, mow lawns, fight fires, guide people in situations, and deliver mail.  In emergency situations, they can search and rescue living things.  They can work in contaminated areas that humans cannot work in.  There are so many things robots can help humans in and at.  We just have to accept them and let them into our society for good stuff only.

It is the scope of this blog to inform you about the positive and negative advantages of robotics. We hope it will teach you all about their effect on the job industry, their capabilities, and the future of robotics and how they may effect on you individually.

John Calipari and Kentucky

I read an article today on www.espn.com named "The Gospel of John Calipari" by Jason King. If you dont know who John Calipari is, you must live under a rock! He is the head basketball coach for the University of Kentucky. The article is all about how Kentucky is still the premier place to go if your a 5-star recruit. Coming to Lexington is the fastest, most beneficial way to get you to the NBA.

Calipari has had several telethons. Through him, there has been built a new dorm for the basketball players. Also, a renovation for Rupp Arena is in the works. He has said plenty of times that its not about making good basketball players, it's about changing lives.

There are many reasons why John Calipari and Kentucky are just plain better than every other school in the nation:
  • First, Calipari has proven he can develop you into a lottery pick in the NBA draft. If your a good player with some talent and hard work then he will make you into a great player with millions of dollars.
  • Second, John is friends with celebrities like Ben Roethlisberger, Mike Tomlin (Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and coach), LeBron James, Kevin Durant (the two best players in the NBA),Wale, Jay-Z, Drake (rappers), and Josh Hopkins, Ashley Judd, and Charlie Sheen (actors). And you cant forget about former players of Calipari like Marcus Camby, Derrick Rose, John Wall, Brandon Knight, and Anthony Davis just to name a few. High school players would love to meet them!
  • Lastly, he has a national championship to show for and every high school recruit wants to be the best and to win championships.
Kentucky has truly been turned into a fantastic destination for stud high school players who want to play in the NBA.

John Calipari is a perfect fit for the University of Kentucky.

Here is the article if you want to read it. It is really good.

Kentucky Basketball Forum

This week I will write about about an online forum. I went to a kentucky basketball forum. In fact it was if you want the weblink it is www.kentuckybasketballforum.com. I thought it was very interesting. Of course, I absolutely love Kentucky basketball. last year they won the national championship and this year they start from scratch. the setup for this forum was pretty good. at the top of the webpage there were four main links you could click. there were home, about, forum, and contact. the home page was all of the posts. the about page was just there their origin and where they would like to go with the forum. the forum page was giving other forums names. they were put in categories: all things kentucky, non kenucky, and everything else. the contact page was how you could contact them to make the website better and if you had anything that they would like to post. it also has on the right side of the screen the schedule, roster, and the nba cats. i really like the nba cats feature because you could go there and learn what the NBA cats are doing in the league for their career and for the ongoing season just with the click of a button. this is an up and coming website. it just started so it does not have many members. it only has 14 members but on the bright side it has 211 likes for facebook. the posts were set up like a popular website named www.kentuckysportsradio.com. i am sure this website will be popular and successful in the future after it hits the ground running. it has all the potential in the world to turn into a great forum.

Here is a picture of the forum and maybe it will entice you to go to this website www.kentuckybasketballforum.com!

Why I think that students should be able to show affection for the opposite sex at School

First of all, I want to come out and say that this school is named Blue Grass BAPTIST School, which means we put our trust in the Bible. Teachers are okay with boys touching boys and girls touching girls. If we do believe in the Bible, then we should not encourage homosexuality. It is considered a sin. I believe that God loves all people the same, regardless of race, looks, personality, religion, and even sexual preference.

It is clearly stated in the Bible though that you should have affection of the opposite sex. God does say in Genesis 1:28, “I am God Almighty, be fruitful and multiply.” I am not saying that it should be okay for a couple to have sex or make out or something like that on school property. I am saying though that it should be ok for them to hold hands, hug, or awkwardly touch. There is nothing wrong with that. I would rather have people hug people of the opposite sex than their own gender. We should definitely not encourage people being gay or bisexual.

If you don’t allow affection for the opposite sex, then it is more likely they do something ungodly while they are not at school because they finally have freedom. Homosexuality should be looked down upon, even though they are still people. We should encourage people to be straight, not gay. Teachers should be more lenient about the students showing sexual relations towards each other. God made man and woman for a purpose, one of those is to reproduce so that we can spread the wonderful Word of our glorious Lord Jesus Christ to unbelievers all around the world. We are Blue Grass Baptist School so let’s make that “Baptist” mean something!

2012 London Olympic Games For the U.S.A. Recap                                                                      Mark Karenbauer

The 2012 Olympics took place in London, England, from July 27, to August 12th, 2012. The United States of America sent a total of 539 athletes to London and then they competed in 25 different sports, (The only sport we did not compete in was handball.) Of the 539 athletes that went to London, 208 won at least one medal. In other words, 39% of all American athletes won a medal, which is a pretty good average.  The oldest athlete was 54 year old equestrian Karen O’Connor and the youngest athlete was 15 year old swimmer Katie Ledecky. For the first time in America’s history, we sent more female athletes than male athletes to the Olympics. We won medals in 18 sports in which 15 of those sports won a gold medal. However, we did not win gold medals in fencing, archery, and taekwondo.

The main goal for the Americans coming into the 2012 London Olympic Games was to be first in the overall medal count to continue our dominance. For example, we came in first in Beijing in 2008 with 110 medals. We were neck and neck, going back and forth every day, with China. Until a couple days before the closing ceremonies we broke it open and we ended the 2012 Olympics with 104 medals. China had 84 medals while the U.S. ended up with 46 gold medals, 29 silver medals, and 29 bronze medals.

Here is sport by sport the medal count:

·         In swimming we won 31 medals.

·         In track and field we won 29 medals.

·         In gymnastics we won 6 medals.

·         In shooting, tennis, cycling, diving, and wrestling, we won 4 medals.

·         In volleyball and rowing we won 3 medals.

·         In basketball, boxing, judo, and taekwondo, we won 2 medals.

·         In archery, soccer, water polo, and fencing, we won 1 medal.

Here is the day by day medal count:

·         Our biggest days were August 4th and August 8th, with 11 medals.

·         We won 9 medals on August 9th.

·         On August 2nd and August 11th we won 8 medals.

·         On August 7th we won 7 medals.

·         On July 29th , July 30th , July 31st , August 1st , August 3rd , and August 5th , we won 6 medals.

·         On July 28th , we won 5 medals. On August 10th , we won 4 medals.

·          On August 3rd , we won 3 medals.

·         Our worst day was August 12th when we only won 2 medals.

Now for those of you interested here is the gender medal count: The women won 58.5 medals. The men won 48.5 medals.

As usual the U.S.A. had multiple medalists:

·         Michael Phelps won the most medals for America with 6.

·         Missy Franklin, Allison Schmitt, and Ryan Lochte won 5 medals.

·         Allyson Felix, Dana Vollmer, Nathan Adrian, Matt Grevers, Rebecca Soni, Aly Raismon, Cullen Jones, and Camelita Jeter all won 3 medals.

·         Gabrielle Douglas, Sanya Richard-Ross, Serena Williams, Ricky Berens, Brandon Hansen, McKayla Maroney, Nick Thoman, David Boudia, Mike Bryan, Jessica Hardy, DeeDee Trotter, Sarah Hammer, Elizabeth Beisel, Will Claye, and Justin Gatlin all won 2 medals. There were 27 multiple medalists.

By all accounts, the 2012 Olympic Games were a huge success for the United States of America.

I asked Mary Kate and Ellie three questions about the 2012 London Olympic Games.

My first question was, “Did you watch the 2012 London Olympic Games?” May Kate replied, “Yeah.” Ellie replied “Heck to the yeah!”

My second question was “Who was your favorite athlete in the Olympics and why?” Mary Kate replied, “Ryan Lochte, because he is a hottie, but not as hot you, Mark!” Ellie replied, “Michael Phelps, because he’s so talented and skilled.” Mr. Ellis also piped in on this question and said, “Gabby Douglas, because I liked her personality and her inspiration to us all and she was a positive influence on degenerate people like you, Mark Karenbauer!”

My last question was, “how do you feel the United States did in the Olympics?” Mary Kate said, “I don’t know, we didn’t do very good, did we?” I then said, “Mary Kate, we lead in the medal count, retard!” She replied, “Ohhhhhh, then we did great!” Obviously she didn’t watch the Olympics! Ellie said, “We did so well, look at all the medals we won! … Mark, I am afraid to answer your questions!”
